The Matrix
Thomas A. Anderson is a computer programmer and hacker, under the codename Neo. He asks the question “what is the matrix?” and soon receives the beginnings of an answer.

After being attacked by agents Neo decides to find out the truth and takes the red pill offered by Morpheus (leader of the rebellious group: played by Laurence Fishbourne).

Neo finds himself extracted from the matrix and involved in a war with sentient machines and their agents.

He must learn to accept that his life never really happened and must struggle to bring down the machines with Morpheus, Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and their crew.

The Matrix Reloaded
In the second film of the Matrix Trilogy Zion (the rebel human stronghold) is under threat from machine sentinels.

With just 72 hours until the machines reach the city all of Zion's ships are called back to protect it.

Neo is instructed by the Oracle to find the key maker, a prisoner of the Matrix who can help Neo reach the source and destroy the Matrix.

At the same time he must fight Smith, his nemesis and an agent from the previous film. Smith has failed to report to the source for deletion and as such, like Neo is unrestricted by the rules of the Matrix.

The Matrix Revolutions
Neo is trapped between The Matrix and The Source at Mobil Avenue and is being kept there by the Trainman.

Trinity, Morpheus and Seraph (Collin Chou) must attempt to free Neo to save the human race. Meanwhile Neo has come to accept that being “The One” does not mean he can simply destroy the Matrix and free the humans.

He must also accept that Smith his nemesis (Hugo Weaving) is his equal and opposite and must fight against the rebel programme Smith, the Trainman, The architect and the machines in order to save Zion.
