This fantastically priced DVD boxset features Disney Channel Original High School Musical, High School Musical 2, High School Musical 3: Senior Year and the bonus High School Musical Interactive DVD Game, all amounting to a fantastic bargain, that will hopefully soon be available on Blu-Ray.

Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens star in this fun and energetic Disney Channel DVD Boxset as popular basketball team captain and all-round school jock Troy and the more reserved and academic Gabriella. The two are forced together by fate whilst holidaying at the same ski resort with their parents, in what would be the first, and in their minds, only meeting of two very different, but equally talented people. Neither had performed until the moment they are forced to share the spotlight together at a camp teen event, and both leave expecting to never see each other again.

The start of one of the most family friendly DVD romances blossoms from this point, although the pair is not to know it. The first two films initially went straight to TV before being released on DVD and as a more affordable DVD box set brimming with fun extras, premiering on the Disney Channel, until public demand and high DVD sales ensured High School Musical 3: Senior Year made the series into a cinematic hit.

The fantastic extras in this brimming bargain DVD box set are worth the money alone in this HSM fan’s opinion. Hopefully this High School Musical 1-3 DVD box set will be released on Blu-Ray soon, as I can think of at least one person who would love to compare PS3 compatible offerings with their DVD cousins!

Carrying on with the storyline, Gabriella’s mother has to regularly move for her job, and that summer moves to Albuquerque, New Mexico, enrolling Gabriella at East High – the school attended by Troy, who is struggling to forget his performance with the ‘mystery girl’, who he eventually falls for, and her him. Both shock the members of the social cliques to which they belong when they each decide to audition for the high school's musical, whilst torn between sticking to their ‘status quo’. By proving themselves to be brilliant performers, the two teens lead their peers towards more open-minded thinking and acceptance of one another, to ‘it-girl’ Sharpay’s disgust. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL is a family-appropriate feature filled with catchy music, popular dance moves, and tons of school spirit.

This DVD entertains at every opportunity, and despite criticism from people who are likely not to have seen the movie/misers, the film’s family friendly tone ensures that people of all ages can enjoy it, from the very young to adults who’ll almost certainly secretly sing along!

High School Musical 2 is the more grown-up sequel to the hugely popular HSM DVD, and this Disney Channel original movie brings back all the beloved characters from the first film, but it moves the action from the school year to the sizzling summer, where Troy starts thinking about his academic and sporting future more given that the University of Albuquerque Red Hawks team invite him to practise with them, to the detriment of his relationship with Gabriella and his school friends.

Just because school's out, it doesn't mean that Troy (Zac Efron), Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), Chad (Corbin Bleu), and Taylor (Monique Coleman) just get to sit around. Instead, the four students get summer jobs at the Lava Springs Country Club, and they won't even get a break from Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale).

Her family owns the club, and her biggest goal for the summer is to take Troy from Gabriella, whilst also winning the ‘Star Dazzle Award’, an award she has never lost. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2 features more of the upbeat musical numbers that made the first film such a smash hit including "Fabulous," "Work This Out," "You Are the Music in Me," and "Gotta Go My Own Way."

The first HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL movie to be released straight to the silver screen, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3 finds the cast of the beloved earlier instalments, all students at East High, dealing with the ups and downs of senior year.

While all the characters have their own dilemmas, the central issue, as in past films, is the relationship between sweethearts Troy the captain of East High's Wildcats basketball team, and the bookish Gabriella who face the possibility of imminent separation when Gabriella gets a chance to attend college early.

With this third outing in the wildly popular Disney series, director Kenny Ortega takes full advantage of HSM3's big-screen leap, staging musical numbers that go far beyond the scope of the movie's predecessors (see the lavish "I Want It All" by resident East High diva Sharpay).

While the series regulars are in fine form and a few new characters are introduced, the film really belongs to Efron, who gets the most screen time and is clearly on a trajectory for stardom beyond HSM. Rather than hold back their budding leading man, the creators and producers of HSM3 let Efron take the spotlight, much to the movie's advantage.

Designed to welcome the few viewers who might be unfamiliar with HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, SENIOR YEAR certainly offers plenty of valedictory excitement, and will leave fans giddy with delight. This film compiles all the feelings of anxiety at leaving school into one musical, emotion-packed and unmissable final curtain performance.
